ORINDA, CA – The 2011 West Coast Jamboree Round of 16 action, Winward (Los Anglese, CA) showed why it’s ranked #3 in the country with a dominant performance over Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove, CA), winning 60-44, on a frigid night at Meramonte High School in Orinda, Calif.
Windward, the number one seed in the tournament, is on a roll this year having placed third at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona. The Wildcats vaulted to number three nationall in the most recent MaxPreps Xcellent 25 national poll after beating three nationally-ranked teams at the Nike TOC.
Texas bound Imani Stafford, a 6-foot-7 center, and one of the elite women’s players in the country had a strong performance. She is the 10th ranked player nationally by espn.com and the No. 3 player at her position in the Class of 2012. Stafford is the daughter of Pamela McGee, and her brother is Washington Wizard’s center JaVale McGee.
